There’s No “I” in Team

But there is one in Biden!
Words to chill even the bravest heart:
There’s no “I” in “team,” but there is definitely one in “Biden.”
With President Obama off on vacation, his second in two weeks, unofficial Acting President Joe Biden has stepped into the vacuum, claiming credit Thursday for the successes of the administration’s $787 billion stimulus package and fielding questions on health care reform — something his boss hasn’t done in nearly two weeks.
So, our top elected leader is a coward. Hiding from a press that has done everything it can to help him along – uncritically reporting and supporting his agenda. Now that his popularity is plummeting on multiple fronts – he sends his gaffe-prone vice-President out on the road to “accept responsibility”. Is that too strong a characterization? Well, I don’t think so, or I wouldn’t have made it. But I suppose you could say that it wanders into the realm of hyperbole – but only as long as you convince me that Bush would have gotten the same lenient treatment that Obama is currently getting.
As for Biden – you know what, Joe – I really don’t care if you accept responsibility for anything. The only thought I give you at all is how horrible it will be if we ever have to remove the word “acting” from the phrase “Joe Biden is the acting President of the United States”.
Of course, there’s a reason Obama needs those vacations.
