My name is Neal Mauldin. I’m an expat American currently living in Canada, watching in horror as my homeland appears determined to recreate the failed years of a Jimmy Carter presidency on a grand scale never before imagined.
I’m a libertarian by nature, believe in small government and fundamental freedoms. I’m fiscally and militarily conservative, but socially liberal. I believe the Republican party, in it’s current manifestation, is too conservative on societal issues and that the fundamental arm of the party drives many people away from it. I also believe that the Democratic party is too liberal, and is ramming policies into place that will wreck havoc with the US economy for years to come. When forced to choose between an imperfect Republican and an imperfect Democratic party – the conservatives are a clearly superior choice in my mind. Supporting current Democratic initiatives is tantamount to committing economic suicide.
